It will be interesting to see Zack Snyder’s take on Superman in his upcoming film Man of Steel. It has been said that it will not be based on the comics but almost a collective of them. Superman is no stranger to any of us. He has been a superhero for most of us and for the generations before us. Zack Snyder will bring Superman to our younger generations and our future generations with a more modern spin. He already brought us Watchmen, 300, and Sucker Punch.
Of course Zack Snyder will not be doing it alone. He has Christopher Nolan as producer and co-writer, best known for directing and co-writing Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, and Inception. For the Dark Knight Trilogy, Nolan worked alongside David S. Goyer, known for his involvement with the Blade trilogy. Hans Zimmer will also be composing the score, so this is going to be amazing. This is an elite film making team. The screenplay will be brilliant, the story will be amazing, and the soundtrack will be perfect.
The release date is the 14th June 2013 and already there are several trailers to enjoy. The trailers give us snippets of what is to come. The threat to mankind made by General Zod, played by Michael Shannon, forces Clark Kent/Superman, played by Henry Cavill, to go against his race and heritage. The trailers hint that we’ll see the struggle of a boy with a secret to hide, and later of a man who wishes to know who he is, an alien needing to be accepted on Earth to help them, and how Clark Kent became a superhero. This movie isn’t going to be just about a battle to save humanity, or a fight against an enemy, but an insight into Kal-El and his journey to become Superman.
Remember to keep your mind open when you go to see this. This isn’t straight from a comic. This is Zack Snyder’s version and it might not be what you think, unless you think it’s going to be good.
