Marvel and Netflix have dropped the AKA from the title of the upcoming series now titled just Jessica Jones. There has been no official explanation for the change in title, but it was confirmed by the placeholder screen on Netflix along with some investigative digging by Comicbook.com. The second Marvel series to be ordered by Netflix is due to premiere later this year and stars Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, David Tennant as Kilgrave and Mike Colter as Luke Cage.
Additionally, Colter’s Luke Cage will be getting his own series on Netflix sometime next year.
Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need… especially if they’re willing to cut her a check.
