Andy Serkis and Thomas Brodie-Sangster Have Joined the Mouse Guard Cast
The series is targeted towards kids, but adults have been known to gush about the series as well. So far there are three graphic novels in the series in total, but I wouldn’t be surprised if more end up being added with time. It’s already caused one spin-off series, Legends of the Guard.
The adaptation is still in the relatively early stages, as evidenced by the fact that they’re still in the casting phase. However, we know quite a lot about it so far. Wes Ball (Maze Runner) is directing. Meanwhile, Gary Whitta (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) is set to be the writer for the adaption. Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes), Ross Richie (from BOOM! Studios), Stephen Christy (also from BOOM! Studios), and Joe Hartwick Jr. are all producers.
The team is hoping to have production in full swing by the spring. Hopefully that means we’ll start getting trailers sooner rather than later.
The New Cast Members
Andy Serkis joined the team so that he could play blacksmith Midnight. His character is a villain, but the name probably gave that away just a little bit.
Thomas Brodie-Sangster will play young Lieam. Lieam is one of the Mouse Guard’s youngest members. It’s a bit of an ironic choice, since everyone is always joking about how young Thomas Brodie-Sangster looks. These two haven’t worked together yet, but I, for one, am very much looking forward to seeing how it goes.
