Mysterio Revealed In Paparazzi Footage
Spider-Man: Far From Home is currently filming in the Czech Republic, and some footage has made its way online. There have been numerous photos taken, by fans or otherwise, of the various scenes being filmed in the country. However, one thing that has been tightly under wraps is the film’s villain, Mysterio. Jake Gyllenhaal has been rumored to be in the part, but that hasn’t been fully confirmed. However, new fan footage seems to reveal the villain!

The footage, seemingly taking place at the climax of the film, came online over the weekend. It clearly shows us the costume Mysterio will be wearing. It seems to be heavily inspired by Thor’s original armor but upgraded with serious technology. However, what seems to be missing is Mysterio’s iconic fishbowl helmet. On the other hand, it gives us the clearest look yet at the man in the part. The face and beard is very Gyllenhaal-esque…but it could also be his stunt double.
Mysterio: An Enduring Spider-Man Foe
Mysterio, aka Quentin Beck, first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #13 in 1964 has been one of Web-head’s longest-running foes. A special effects wizard and stuntman, Beck turned to crime after attempts at stardom failed. Utilizing his skills, technology, and a costume, Beck became Mysterio. He was also a founding member of the Sinister Six and continues to be a reoccurring member of that roster. The villain also became a bit of a joke, even being easily defeated by the Power Pack, a group of preteen heroes.

Soon after that, Beck developed cancer from years of exposure to his chemicals. This time he chose Daredevil and gathered intel from the Kingpin. Beck almost managed to drive Daredevil insane, and indirectly was responsible for the death of Karen Page. He also framed Foggy Nelson for murder. Daredevil overcame these tragedies and ended up mocking Mysterio to his face, saying he was a “human Xerox”, copying the plans of other villains. Beck, however, had the final laugh. Upon saying he was stealing an idea from Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio shot himself in the head.
However, like many comic book characters, Beck later came back to life and continues to bedevil Peter Parker to this day. While others have played the part of Mysterio; Quentin Beck is considered the genuine article.
