New Captain Marvel Footage Revealed!
More details and insights on Captain Marvel have surfaced from new footage—both of the movie and behind-the-scenes. Posted to Twitter by @RachoftheGalaxy in late December, the featurette looks like it will run with pre-trailer advertisements at several select Cinemark theaters.
The promo includes a few talking head segments with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, star Brie Larson, and directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck speaking on the film. This featurette was interspersed over footage from the actual film.
Let’s take a closer look at what the footage reveals about the film before its release on March 8, 2019.

Captain Marvel Footage Details
In the new Captain Marvel footage, viewers get a shot of Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) walking down a Kree corridor. She walks down this corridor with the remainder of the Starforce (a similar scene can be found in the Captain Marvel official trailer). A few quick shots of Danvers and Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch) also highlight key character relationships that will be expanded upon. Not to mention a few more quick shots of Danvers boarding a Quinjet with Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury.
According to Larson, she considers Carol Danvers the “most dynamic” character that she has ever played.
“I think she has an ego, but in a healthy way,” Larson told reporters during a visit to the film’s set. “She doesn’t have an unrealistic expectation of herself—she just owns that she’s really good and really skilled, which feels good to play. She also has an incredible sense of humor, makes fun of herself, makes fun of other people and has no issue if someone makes fun of her.”
“[This is] probably the most dynamic character that I’ve ever played,” Larson continued. “We’ll see what the movie is, but as of now, it’s been the most range I’ve ever played in a character. I’ve had to go through every emotion possible with her…That’s what I want: I want to see complicated female characters. I want to see myself, which is not a simple person. I surprise myself constantly by what’s happening and what’s coming up, so hopefully, that’s what comes out on screen.”
What We Should Expect from Captain Marvel
As with much of the Captain Marvel footage highlights, there are huge expectations for the movie overall.
The mystery on much of the Captain Marvel footage is being cracked by hundreds of rabid fans; but what will the rest of moviegoers think? Arguments on “the end of Marvel studios” and “Marvel’s best movie” are already present. This wouldn’t be much of an issue if it didn’t have a huge impact on the rest of the MCU. But, it does. All this talk of Captain Marvel being the savior and “end game” for Avengers: Endgame (and probably Antman) is not helping.
But whether this will be the bridge to the Avengers or a wrinkle down the end of the road will be the hot discussion when the film arrives on March 8, 2019.
