Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice seeks to bring closure to the age-old question, “who would win in a fight? Batman or Superman?” We all know there won’t be a definitive answer, and that the debate will continue on after this movie. The two disagree on the ideological playing field, and those differences may manifest in a physical confrontation. At the end of the day, Batman and Superman come together for the greater good. They may not like each other, but they can put up with each other.
We all know that Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) will disagree (read: have a big fight) in the course of the film before coming together to fight the bad guy (after all, “justice” is “dawning” in this film, right?) The question is how these two will disagree, and how will the other DC characters fit into this conflict?
Though at one point it seemed rushed to introduce Batman into “Man of Steel 2,” it seems like the plan is going to work out. When Lex Luthor enters the conversation as Superman’s main antagonist, it makes sense for Bruce Wayne to be part of the conversation. The Superman-Wayne-Luthor dynamic will add some great thematic material and dialogue to any story (two billionaires coming together to defend the planet from a supposed threat, though there are two different perspectives to that protection), while the Superman-Batman dynamic will see the two square off in some fantastically designed Zack Snyder action scenes.
Though we have already received an official synopsis for the film, a new description has been found that includes Luthor into the mix. Comic Book Movie (via Collider) discovered the Batman v Superman description on the website for Odeon Cinemas, one of the UK’s largest theater chains.
At long last, see Batman and Superman square off against each other in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’, an epic superhero showdown which will change both their lives forever.
Clark Kent doesn’t trust Gotham’s mysterious masked vigilante. Bruce Wayne doesn’t trust the alien who nearly destroyed Metropolis. And Lex Luthor, who hates Superman more than anyone, is manipulating both of them for his own twisted ends.
Choose your side: the Man of Steel or the Dark Knight? Learn the answer to the age-old question – who would win? – in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’.
The triangle of power between Superman, Batman, and Luthor is great for storytelling. With the inclusion of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jason Mamoa’s Aquaman, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, and many other characters, hopefully the film will stay focused on the main story and not get sidetracked in building the DC Extended Universe. Superman. Batman. Luthor. Those characters have the material necessary for a great comic-book film.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released on March 25, 2016.
