Picard trailer drops at SDCC

SDCC Unveiled the Newest Picard Trailer

Star Trek fans have anxiously been awaiting any and all news from the newest series, Picard, and fans who attended SDCC hit the jackpot, as a trailer has been unveiled.

Picard

Picard is the newest Star Trek series, and on the very slim chance that you haven’t heard about it…well, you can probably guess a bit from the title. The series will follow the beloved character and captain, Picard. Patrick Stewart is reprising his role…and is also directing the project. These two facts are the major cause for our excitement.

Picard is due to air sometime next year and will be going straight to the CBS All Access streaming service. So if you haven’t signed up yet, now would be a good time to do so.

Trailer

The trailer is over two minutes long, and starts off with Picard on the farm he had retired to. This holds up with our last sighting of the character. Of course, the series isn’t going to be all about Picard’s retirement. And the trailer proved that, quickly moving on to give a reason for him coming back.

The trailer has all of the hope and action that we would hope for the series. It showed us many fan favorites, and gives us fans even more reason to hope and look forward to the official release. On the whole, this is one of those trailers you’re going to want to watch more than once. Because there’s a lot of little details to pick up on.

Behind the Scenes

As mentioned above, Patrick Stewart will be playing the leading role. Working alongside him will be other fan favorites like Brent Spiner, Jonathan Del Arco, Jeri Ryan, and Jonathan Frakes.

Michael Chabon is the showrunner for the new and highly anticipated series. Other people involved in the project include Akiva Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, James Duff, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth.
