Ray Fisher Makes a Direct Statement to Joss Whedon While Talking More About Abuse Allegations

In case you haven’t heard by now, Ray Fisher has recently laid some allegations at Joss Whedon’s feet. According to the actor, Whedon exhibited abusive behavior while on the set for Justice League. Now, Ray Fisher is continuing to stand with his claims.

According to Variety, Ray Fisher took advantage of a live panel at JusticeCon to clarify his statement—and his determination to get to the bottom of things. He is still strongly attesting that Joss Whedon was abusive and unprofessional on the set. And he hopes to give others that feel the same an opportunity to speak out as well.

It all came out when Fisher was asked to comment on the differences between Zack Snyder’s take on Justice League, and Joss Whedon’s. He refused to comment on that particular piece, instead focusing on the differing treatment between the two.

I Don’t Want to Compare Them

“I don’t want to compare them in any way shape or form. But what I will say toward the Joss Whedon situation is obviously I put out some pretty strong words and some pretty strong comments about Joss Whedon, and every single one of those words, every single one of those comments, is true.”

All of this is in reference to a tweet that Ray Fisher made, and it’s clear that he is not backing down on that statement. In fact, he’s gone so far as to challenge Joss Whedon to sue him (for slander).

“We’re gonna get to the heart of everything. And if anything I said about that man is untrue, I invite him wholeheartedly to sue me for libel, to sue me for slander.”

Speaking Up for Those That Can’t

In his speech, Ray Fisher acknowledged that not everyone would feel safe speaking up like him. Many would be concerned about losing their careers and standing. So part of his investigation into Whedon’s behavior will be to allow those to speak out anonymously. He’s confident that the information he has already compiled is irrefutable—and more than enough to start demanding attention.

So far, Joss Whedon hasn’t responded to any of the allegations laid on him. This isn’t all that surprising, especially given that he’s stayed quiet even in response to critics and fans’ opinions of his take on Justice League.
