Resident Evil Series Is Hitting Netflix

Resident Evil Netflix is Forming a Series Revolving Around Raccoon City

Raccoon City, the famous (or infamous) location straight from the world of Resident Evil, is about to get its live-action series. And it’s all courtesy of Netflix.

Resident Evil

Resident Evil is pretty used to the idea of getting live-action adaptations. The video game franchise already has several movies under its belt. Given how obsessed the world is with zombies in general, success isn’t all that surprising.

For those that don’t follow the franchise, Resident Evil is a gaming franchise following the Umbrella Corporation, and the heroes who stand up against the monstrosities they’ve created. The most iconic of which, naturally, are zombies.

Raccoon City

Fans have been eagerly looking forward to any and all news about the Resident Evil adaptation heading towards Netflix. Well, thanks to the latest update from Twitter, we now have a better idea of what is in store.

The series is going to be set in Raccoon City. Which isn’t all that surprising. What is more intriguing, is who the series will be following. The main star of the series will be the children of Albert Wesker. That’s right, the iconic villain of the franchise had children, and they’re about to steal the limelight.

Series Details

Other than that major announcement, we know a few other details about this series. It’s set to be eight episodes long, with each episode lasting about an hour. Plenty of time for lots of action and zombie-fighting, right?

Andrew Dabb is the man leading the entire project. Browen Hughes signed on to direct the first two episodes. Unfortunately, no casting announcements have been made. Unsurprisingly, that means that there is also no release date for this series. Not yet, at any rate.

Given the shifting focus of the Netflix series, it seems pretty likely that the series will not be making any effort to tie into the movies. But again, that’s just an assumption at this point. Only time will tell.
