Narrator: Sarah Natochenny

Natasha Romanoff’s hunt continues in Black Widow: Bad Blood Episode 9. Somebody has stolen her blood, along with the blood of others, and she’s closer than ever to finding out who.

Prepping for a Job – Black Widow: Bad Blood Episode 9

Natasha Romanoff is still on the hunt, and she’s going to make those that stole her blood pay. Once she tracks them down, that is. Black Widow: Bad Blood Episode 9 brings our leading lady ever closer to solving the mystery of what has happened.

Last we saw, Natasha had a lead, and a solid one at that. All she had to do was break into a secure facility all on her own. So a usual weekday for her. While the trip didn’t pan out quite as she had hoped, it did result in a new lead, so it evened out.

Black Widow: Bad Blood is an ongoing series from Serial Box. It’s one of three Marvel series currently up on the platform (Thor & Jessica Jones), though there’s at least one more incoming (Black Panther). Each week brings fans a new episode that follows Natasha’s antics.

Black Tie

Seeing the way in which Natasha hunts is always satisfying. Especially when she has the help of a specific famous (or infamous, depending on how you look at it) hero/tortured soul. That’s why Black Widow: Bad Blood Episode 9 was such a delight to read (and listen to).

Written by Margaret Dunlap, this episode is a master class in subtlety. Black Widow has always had a way of making her job look easy when we all know it’s anything but. This episode provided a rare glimpse into all of her training and the prep work a single mission takes.

It also allows for a moment of fresh air, before it all begins again. It’s rich with character interactions, something that shippers are sure to enjoy (guilty). Most of it is obviously setting up for something major; plot in regards to an impending conflict, and in regards to what could happen between these two.

One of the many things I love about this series is the ability to jump through memories. Natasha’s past is always up for grabs—be it memories of the Red Room, her ally, or even her latest undercover assignment. The fact that they all carry weight to her makes her feel so much more human.

The next episode is sure to be an interesting one, and thus, is something I’m really looking forward to. I have a feeling that the action is going to spike up a little bit, to say the least.

Once again, Sarah Natochenny is at the helm for narrating Black Widow: Bad Blood Episode 9. There are a lot of nuances to be found in this episode. Natasha is facing multiple elements from her past, and Natochenny wasn’t afraid to let that affect her voice.

It made this whole episode something so much more. Natasha was more than just a major character breaking out of the Marvel world. She became human, and complicated, full of memories, wants, and needs.

The rest of the audio helped to flesh out the episode, from the subtle sound effects to the musical score. All of it felt right at home in a tale regarding the Black Widow, and I cannot wait to hear more of it.

Black Widow: Bad Blood Episode 9 felt like a departure from the journey in some ways, while in others, it’s clearly setting up for the next event. It’s fascinating to see how Natasha preps for a mission—and all of the knowledge she must carry to be ready for anything.

It’s hard to believe that there are only five episodes left in this series. Or at least, left to this season. If we’re really lucky, there will be more than one season! I, for one, would love to see more of this heroine and her journeys on this particular platform.

Serial Box also has two other Marvel series: Thor, and Jessica Jones. Jessica Jones is actively updating at the moment and has been a real treat. There’s set to be one more Marvel series, Black Panther, but hopefully, his tale won’t be the last added.
