Riddick: Rule the Dark Trailer Review

Riddick: Rule The Dark, also known as Riddick 3 by fans,  is the final component of the Riddick story, directed by David Twohy, and the trailer gives an insight into what to expect. The film is due to be released in the UK on the 4th September 2013, or the 6th September in the US, (day before my birthday)

As the trailer shows it will follow suit of the previous movies; Pitch Black, and Chronicles of Riddick, with promises of 119 action-packed minutes. There shows an alien looking dog following Riddick, hideous looking creatures attacking in the night, bounty hunters, a man in a recognised suit of armour, and him using his famous line of “You’re not afraid of the dark, are you?” Whatever is going to happen, will happen at night, and there is going to be a series of brilliant fights, epic stand offs, and a story of a fight for survival.

Riddick pinned by a monster

The story is that once again Riddick, played by Vin Diesel, must fight to survive against an alien race as he has been abandoned on an isolated planet. While fending off an alien race that is nothing like he has ever faced he activates an emergency beacon, the bounty hunters he had been running from come to collect him bringing along a man from Riddick’s past who would happily see him dead. This would hint at the Necromonger from Chronicles of Riddick, and the return of Karl Urban who played Vaako. Karl Urban was well known for his performance as Judge Dredd in Dredd.

This is a film I will be going to see just for the action packed scenes, and for the potential Riddick Vs Judge Dredd stand off, that is personally how I will see it in my head as in the film it will be potentially Riddick against Vaako.
