IT Chapter Two Is Coming to San Diego Comic-Con
IT Chapter Two is going to be part of San Diego Comic-Con’s ScareDiego event. We’re hoping to find out soon what exactly that’ll mean for the fans.
IT is based on a Stephen King novel, though likely everyone and their dog knows that by now. It’s been adapted in the past, but the recent two-part adaptation has been doing phenomenally. The first part, IT, released back in 2017 and brought in about $700 million worldwide. And that’s for an R-rated movie, mind you.
IT Chapter Two is set to release in September of this year. And if the excitement for it is anything to go by, it’s going to do just as well as the first. We do know that those that are involved in the film have promised that the sequel will be even more terrifying than the first.
ScareDiego is an event that happens during San Diego Comic-Con. And it’s arguably one of the most anticipated horror events of the year. Second to the release of IT Chapter Two, that is.
Andy Muschietti, director of IT Chapter Two, took to Twitter with an interesting announcement. It would seem that they’re headed to ScareDiego.
What exactly that’ll mean, we’re less certain. In 2017 IT also hit ScareDiego. It (no pun intended) treated its fans to footage from the film. It also had a few extra treats, like costumed characters walking around. These were slightly traumatic, of course. They mostly entailed little boys dressed in yellow raincoats—an iconic look from the movie. But it all fits in well with the theme of the event.
Based on the last appearance, we’re hoping that will mean some more footage will be released this time around. And maybe some new entertaining elements as well? Though if anything can beat the red balloon campaign…
