Young Justice Will Return
The Millennial/GenZ caped crusaders, Justice League’s resident covert deadly B team, were a hot topic at DC FanDome, which showcased all the popular up-and-coming DC features. Executive producers Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti revealed that the fourth season will be aptly titled Young Justice: Phantoms. The last season of the show wrapped up in August 2019, and fans were eager to see the show’s return. A release date has not been announced yet, but work is well underway.
Key cast members of the show did a live reading during FanDome of a special original episode, titled Young Justice: FanDome Season 3.9, Episode 1 “The Prize”. The episode was written by Weisman himself. Jason Spisak (Kid Flash/Forager), Nolan North (Superman/Superboy), Denise Boutte (Rocket), and the rest of the gang were all were present for the special reading, which gave fans a sneak peek into what the new season may look like.
No further details were revealed, but Weisman did comment on how production had been affected by the pandemic. “We’re all working from home. For the most part, when it comes to the pre-production, the script-writing, the storyboards, design work, we’ve successfully transitioned to working at home.”
The series follows the lives of the young heroes as they navigate adulthood and their growing powers. Weisman added that fans should prepare for a time-jump in season 4; he further said that they would focus on a smaller group of the main characters. The first three seasons of Young Justice are available on DC Universe, so fans can binge up before the return of their favorite heroes.
I, for one, am super excited for this new season. I know the story will be just as awesome as the previous seasons.
