Second Bumblebee Trailer
You’re probably thinking, “Wow, another Bayformers movie trailer. Been there, hated that.” However, there is a good reason to check out this trailer and the movie itself. Bumblebee is the first spinoff of Michael Bay’s lucrative if not entertaining Transformers series.
There appears to be a lot of changes to this film that may bring a brighter future for the Transformers franchise. One obvious change is that Michael Bay is not directing and is only attached as producer. Taking place in 1987 makes this film a prequel to other others in the series. This brings a welcomed opportunity to potentially fix some nagging issues.
Bumblebee is still missing the ability to speak other than cryptic sound bites from the radio. However, he is finally seen in his original form, that of a VW beetle. Although it was cool to see Bee as a top of the line Camero, a lot of fans were angry and disappointed.
Series Accurate Transformers
Which brings us to the next and most notable change…screen accurate Transformers! That’s right, we also get to see Optimus Prime, Soundwave, Ravage and others in their 80’s accurate forms.
As Al Pacino so eloquently said in The Godfather Part 3, “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.” And so they have for the sixth time, pulled me back into wanting to see the latest Transformers film.
Bumblebee is directed by Travis Knight. The film stars Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., John Ortiz, Jason Drucker, Pamela Adlon, and Stephen Schneider. The film hits theaters on December 21.
On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.
