Sex Slaves and Smallville

Smallville

 Weirdest Thing About Smallville

We all remember the hit show Smallville, right? Just getting to tag along with a high-school Clark Kent and his best buds Pete and Chloe. Each episode, at least in season 1, Chloe would have a freak of the week on her wall of weird in the school’s newsroom. Little did we know that the actress playing Chloe probably should have been on that wall…

Allison Mack Attacks

First off, I apologize for the subheading right above. Could not resist, but it’s pretty accurate. The actress Allison Mack, best known for her role on Smallville as Chloe Sullivan, continues to make headlines revolving about her weird sex cult thing.

Mack was a member of the sex cult NXIVM. In previous stories around this, it was revealed Mack would recruit young women to join the cult. One such woman was an aspiring actress only reported as Nicole. The whole pitch Mack gave her was basically: join the group and you could potentially play Wonder Woman in a television show.

The story goes on to tell of the previously-reported accusations of the group: blackmail, forced into sex, branding, odd requests, serve as a slave, etc. Other actresses on Smallville were invited but declined then, and some who may have attended a meeting have disavowed the group.

Allison Mack has pleaded guilty to racketeering and conspiracy charges, including extortion and forced labor.

Final Thoughts

This is a disturbing story to have to follow and write about. There will always be people trying to take advantage of someone who is struggling and looking for answers. Very rarely does the nerd world have to address events that have real-life consequences, but I feel it’s important to do when necessary.

During these times of constant communication through social media, it may seem that we are more connected than ever before. Stories like this will come to light more often and we as a community will disown the actions of these horrible people, but I don’t think that’s enough.

Reach out to your friends online or in person and talk with them. Connect with someone on a true level. Let them know you’re there for them. Because as long as we aim to be better and treat people better we can help avoid having others feel alone enough to where a garbage person will take advantage of someone.
