The Six Million Dollar Man Will Return in 2019
The series will follow Colonel Steve Austin through his harrowing journey. The journey itself will be set in the 1970s, in Japan. We don’t know much about the rest of the additional characters yet, with a few exceptions. Niko Abe is a Japanese Secret Agent, and she’ll be working closely with Colonel Steve Austin to try to save the world. Naturally.
Christopher Hastings and David Hahn have been brought on board for the project. If you follow either of those gentlemen on social media, then you’ve likely been hearing them hint about the project for months (especially Christopher Hastings). It’s nice to finally know what they have been up to this whole time.
Christopher Hastings is writing the series and, unsurprisingly, he’s having a lot of fun. He reportedly said, “I know comics is the business of fun, but MAN I had a lot of fun writing this book.” Christopher Hastings is becoming a big name in the comic book world. His webcomic The Adventures of Dr. McNinja is where many fans fell in love with him, while others found him through his work with various other publishers. The Unbelievable Gwenpool, Deadpool, and Adventure Time are among the most talked-about series.
David Hahn is going to be the artist for the series, and it sounds like he is just as excited as Hastings. He’s particularly happy with the decision to keep Steve Austin in his original timeline, which lets him continue to play with the aesthetics he loves so much. Hahn is well-known for his work in series like Batman ’66 and Bombshells.
The First Issue
The first issue of The Six Million Dollar Man is due out in March of 2019. Along with having Christopher Hastings and David Hahn on board, it will feature Roshan Kurchiyanil for colors. Added to that team will be Ariana Maher for letters. Variant covers are going to be done by Michael Walsh, Yasmine Putri, Francesco Francavilla, and Denis Medri. If you’re fond of any of those artists, I’d start making plans to grab that variant.
