Stan Lee’s cameo in Jessica Jones Revealed

Stan Lee cameos are a staple in Marvel TV shows and films. Even Marvel properties that didn’t belong to the Marvel Cinematic Universe have had a Stan Lee cameo, including Lee’s appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man where he acts as the librarian listening to music while Spider-Man and the Lizard fight in the background. Reports from HeroicHollywood have released info on Lee’s cameo in Jessica Jones (which premieres November 20, 2015).

Jessica Jones - Stan Lee cameo

Stan Lee’s cameo can be seen in the above still taken from the latest released Jessica Jones trailer (which was released on November 10th via Netflix). If you look closely you can see Stan Lee’s image on a poster on the wall (just above where the desk lamp is). Those who have watched Daredevil should recognize this picture of Stan Lee as it was used in the same manner on the show (pictured below to the right of the officer). Whether or not this subtle style of cameo is Netflix specific or just a simplified cameo spot, it serves as an interesting way to make a cameo without actually having Lee on set.

Daredevil - Stan Lee cameo

Normally Stan Lee cameos are comical or provide interesting insights within a scene. His cameos often provide nice Easter eggs for the Marvel fans who know how to look for them. The more somber and serious nature of both Netflix Marvel titles (Daredevil and Jessica Jones) thus far may lend to why Lee’s more comical and light hearted live cameos were swapped out for more subtle almost omniscient images. Whether you enjoy spotting Lee’s cameos or you’ve never paid much attention to them, Jessica Jones looks to be a binge worthy show. Netflix will release Jessica Jones in it’s entirety on Friday November 20th, 2015.
