May the Force Be With You, Nunb
***WARNING…the following contains spoilers from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker…Read at your own risk***
In a galaxy far, far away we lost a true hero. A person so brave that they set out to fight against not just the Galactic Empire, but the Final Order. A man who fought in the two great wars. It’s hard to put into words what this person means to us all, but I personally don’t think he needs any introduction…Not Han. Nope, not Luke. Not Leia, either. Not even Ben. This was a man like no other. I’m talking about the great Nien Nunb.
Remembering The Legend Nunb
Bryan Young took to Twitter to show his respect for Nunb. Nunb passed during the final battle between the Resistance and The Final Order in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Many had not noticed the character’s death on screen, due to the limited amount of time he appeared, but the author of the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Expanded Edition novel, Rae Carson, confirmed the news.

The character was first introduced to the fandom of in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Nunb is best known for being the adorable sidekick one seat over from Lando Calrissian in the Millennium Falcon. The character was brought to life by three people: Nunb was puppeteered by Mike Quinn, Richard Bonehill portrayed him in costume, and he was voiced by Kipsang Rotich. Quinn and Rotich reprised their duties of bringing the great Nien Nunb to life for the sequel trilogy.
Gone Too Soon
With the passing of Nunb it is truly the end of a saga. We said goodbye too soon. Here’s to you my friend, I hope you’re co-piloting that Millennium Falcon in the sky…
Which character was the hardest for you to say goodbye to? Did you cry? Who do you hope survived that final battle? Let me know in the comments down below.
