Another Test Subject Like Eleven
Ever since Stranger Things came out, viewers were fascinated by Eleven’s (Millie Bobby Brown) back story. She had these odd powers that made her the test subject in Hawkins Laboratory. In the second season, they introduced Kali (Linnea Berthelson). She’s also known as Eight, and was a test subject as well. Now, Dark Horse is introducing yet another one of the test subjects, Six, in the upcoming comics.
Stranger Things Comics
Dark Horse has produced the comic books of the series since last year. The new comic, Stranger Things: Six, is a prequel series that is set to span across four books. The first issue of the miniseries will go on sale May 29, 2019.
We still do not know much about the plot. We do know that Six, whose real name is Francine, does have special powers like her successors, Eight and Eleven. Eleven has the power of telekinesis. Eight/Kali could create illusions. Six/Francine has the power of precognition. First, her parents exploited her abilities, only to be followed by Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine), who we all know to be pretty evil. He manipulates the subjects into believing he cares for them in a fatherly way. Some of Eleven’s most heart-wrenching moments are when she cries “Papa!” at him. We don’t know yet if he establishes this relationship with Francine. Eleven did not remember her biological parents, and it seems Six does. We do know that her ability shows her opportunities to make her life better, even if the visions prove disturbing.
The comics will be written by Jody Houser and drawn by Edgar Salazar. You can see cover art by Aleksi Bricolt, Kyle Lambert, and David Mack now on EW. You can catch up or refresh your memory of Stranger Things on Netflix.
