It was just this past weekend that I found a copy of Superman: Earth One, and I loved every panel of it. Writer J. Michael Straczynski and artist Shane Davis create a masterpiece in the retelling of the Superman mythos about a twenty- year-old Clark Kent trying to find his place on Earth and amongst humans. Every page of this graphic novel had me hooked and when I was done I just wanted more and more of this extraordinary story.
This Halloween, October 31st I will get my wish because this is the release date of Superman: Earth One, vol. 2. From the creative team of J. Michael Straczynski and Shane Davis comes the continuing story of a young Clark Kent as he struggles to deal with humanity, which he finds to be a much greater challenge than he ever fathomed as he strives to become the greatest super hero the world has ever known. Among the many things covered in this story include a woman who becomes a romantic interest and it isn’t Lois Lane, an evil dictator, and a man-like creature with a hunger that can’t be quenched, The Parasite. This story will answer the questions, how will the world deal with a creature that possesses the powers of Superman but without his conscience; how will The Last Son of Krypton learn to live without his powers? This October find out when D.C. comics and the team of Straczynski and Davis bring us the highly anticipated sequel to the # 1 New York Times best-selling graphic novel Superman: Earth One.
If you are a Superman fan and have not read Superman: Earth One I would highly recommend doing so. I am glad I did and can hardly wait to see how the next book turns out. Halloween cannot get here fast enough.
