Synopsis for Black Widow Solo Film Possibly Revealed
The solo debut of Black Widow on the silver screen is in process. With director Cate Shortland on board and Jac Shaeffer writing the script. We still do not know much about what the solo film could be about. Will we see Natasha being groomed to become the elite assassin she is? Will we get a glimpse of her past missions with Hawkeye and S.H.I.E.L.D.? Things have been pretty quiet until now. A Black Widow twitter account detailed a possible synopsis for the Avengers solo debut from Production Weekly.
At birth the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanova) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action moves to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative. The standalone film will find Romanoff living in the United States 15 years after the fall of the Soviet Union.
So, this is nothing “official” but it gives us some details of what we can expect. We might get more of the “Red Room” which was teased briefly in Avengers: Age of Ultron and was very significant in the Marvel television show Agent Carter. It will be interesting to see how Marvel deals with the “Red Room” and Black Widows “red ledger”. Could we see a little darker tone for the Black Widow Solo movie?
What Could Be?
No word yet of if any other Avengers or Marvel characters are going to show up. There was a rumor of Daredevil showing up, but that has been debunked by Kevin Feige himself. Again this is only speculative, but even if this is not true for the timeline we are definitely probably going to get some more detailed information on Black Widow’s past when the movie comes out.
Black Widow has a wealth of comic book lore to also pull from. It will be interesting to see where they take her story and what they pull from? Are you looking forward to the Black Widow solo movie? What would you like to see in it? Let us know in the comments below.
