Fire up your Vortex Manipulator – it’s time for another installment of That Time On Doctor Who by Brent Kincade!
#ThatTimeOnDrWho lovingly riffs on over 51 years of Doctor Who adventures, bringing that MST3K sensibility to the lives of a certain renegade Time-Lord!
Week 67 features a call to action by our favorite immortal Time Agent, Captain Jack Harkness, who first appeared in the two-part adventure The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances (2005), unless you count his appearance in The End of the World (2005) as The Face of Boe!
WHO FUN FACT: When Captain Jack gained immortality in “The Parting of the Ways” (2005) and was abandoned by the Ninth Doctor far in the future, he attempted to travel back to Earth using a Vortex Manipulator. He wound up stranded on Earth in the 1900’s without a working time device. He lived on Earth for hundreds of years, finally catching up with “the right Doctor”. Then at some point in his future he was sent back into the past again, where he was buried alive, trapped underground for hundreds of years until he was rescued and released in the Torchwood series. This meant that at several times in Earth’s history, there were at least three different time-displaced versions of Jack on Earth at the same time!
