The Fantastic Four reboot film is on it’s way in 2015. Casting for what Fox hopes will be a new start to the franchise appears to have assembled the core of first family of comics.
Miles Teller has an offer to play Reed Richards. Teller is known for his work in 21 & Over, Project X and The Spectacular Now. This summer he can be seen as Peter in Divergent, a film based on the popular adolescent fiction series.
Kate Mara has been confirmed to play Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman. Mara is fresh off her work on the Netflix original series House of Cards. She’s had recurring roles on Entourage and American Horror Story. She’s even previously appeared in a Marvel film, as a U.S. Marshal in Iron Man 2. This summer she can be seen in Transcendence opposite Johnny Depp.
Jamie Bell is expecting an offer to portray Ben Grimm, the ever lovin’ blue-eyed Thing. Mr. Bell’s recent credits include Jumper, voice work as Tintin in The Adventures of Tintin and the title role in Billy Elliot. He’ll be playing Abe Woodhull in the AMC spies during the revolutionary war series Turn beginning this April.
Michael B. Jordan has been attached to the film to play Johnny Storm/The Human Torch for a while now. He’s best known for his work on HBO’s The Wire, as Vince Howard on Friday Night Lights, and as Steve in the film Chronicle. His previous superheroic work includes a turn voicing Victor Stone/Cyborg in Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox. Most recently he can be seen opposite Zac Effron and Miles Teller (Mr. Fantastic above) in That Awkward Moment.
The Fantastic Four recently made news when a casting notice surfaced on the internet with a plot summary that appeared to re-write the FF origin. Director Josh Trank was quick to quell the rumors, tweeting “that synopsis is definitely not the synopsis or anything close to the synopsis. I don’t know who put that out. byyee.”
