Morbius the Living Vampire Comes to the Big Screen
We have our first full-length look at the big-screen adaption of longtime Spider-Man friend/villain Michael Morbius. Jared Leto stars as the “vampire-esque” anti-hero. There has been a lot of speculation around Morbius and possible connections to Spider-Man, Venom and the MCU. We’ll take a look at the trailer and find out what Morbius is all about.
Well, the trailer for Morbius itself is okay. Nothing crazy interesting (about Morbius) but not bad either. It gives us the very basic rundown of the character and a look at the power set. I am going to guess 90% of people have no clue who Morbius is, so, it is a much-needed explainer. But we do not get much about the plot or story besides the general stuff.
Now, maybe Morbius is not the first character you think of when you think of Spider-Man, or probably not even the 10th character. But hey, Sony doesn’t have much to work with for solo films and vampires are generally a safe bet. Incidentally, I think they are missing out not tagging it “The Living Vampire”.
It Is All Connected
Now the two things that everyone is talking about from the trailer, and it is not Morbius. First, the Spider-Man poster in the alley. It has “murderer” painted across it. So, does that officially connect it to Spider-Man: Far From Home? It is confirmed that the same J. Jonah Jameson that broke the news of Spider-Man’s identity and “murdering” Mysterio in Far From Home would be appearing. Also, why did they use “that” Spider-Man suit?
The biggest and most surprising is Michael Keaton showing up at the very end! I was certainly caught by major surprise to see “The Vulture” show up. What does this mean for Spider-Man and the MCU as a whole?
What did you think about the Morbius trailer? Did it drum up any more interest in the film for you? Let us know in the comments.
