Highly Anticipated The Night Circus Lands a Director
Fans of Erin Morgenstern’s The Night Circus have been eagerly waiting for news and with good reason. We finally have something to report on this matter, as the adaptation officially landed a director.
The Night Circus
The Night Circus is Erin Morgenstern‘s debut novel, and it is a tale that fans instantly fell in love with. Combining iconic themes together, how could this novel do anything other than wind a way into our hearts?
Sometimes the most delightful events can hide something dark and deadly. The circus, a treat and obsession for many, is in fact so much more. For it is also a competition between two peers. And it is the life’s work of their two proteges.
Celia and Marco have been raised to compete with one another; to find ways to defeat the other; to create more impressive and grand designs than the other. It was inevitable that they fall for one another. And so the story goes.
The Night Circus is currently on course for getting a film adaptation, courtesy of Lionsgate. So far, we’ve heard several encouraging bits of news. David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford are already signed on board to produce. The newest announcement, however, involves the director of this project. According to Deadline, they’ve landed Geremy Jasper to direct. Jasper is most famous for Patti Cake$ and Shortbus.
While that is all the news we have, it is still forward movement, and that’s enough for many fans. Given how long The Night Circus has been out (it was released in 2011), it is almost a surprise to suddenly be seeing so much progress in this department. With any luck, we’ll be seeing an announcement any day about Erin Morgenstern’s second novel, The Starless Sea, getting an adaptation.
