Titans, with its move to HBOMax, is getting ready for season 3. Already, it has cast Savannah Welch as Barbara Gordon, the former Batgirl turned GCPD Commissioner. With the team heading back to Gotham, and Jason Todd moving on to being Red Hood, a new Robin must rise. Now, the Titans seem to have found Robin number 3. WB has announced that Jay Lycurgo will be Tim Drake. Variety writes that the I May Destroy You actor got the role on Thursday. Variety writes:

Drake is described as a streetwise kid who’s managed to grow up on the toughest streets without losing his indelible belief in heroism. His easy-going demeanor is backed up by a near-genius mind, a natural detective with a perception of detail far beyond his years. Fans of the “Batman” comics will recall that Drake served with Batman as the third Robin.
Lycurgo will also be in Matt Reeve’s upcoming The Batman film, but no word yet on who he plays for that project. Lycurgo posted a celebratory Tweet:
I ain’t know know crying thug no more. I’m the best detective in Gotham. I AM TIM DRAKE🦸🏽♂️ See you SEASON 3 FANDOM LOVEEEE @DCTitans@Variety 🌟🌟 pic.twitter.com/rrWlKtHpml
At least one castmate, Ryan Potter, has proudly welcomed him. However, the tweet he posted seems to be, unfortunately, deleted due to bigoted fans attacking him for celebrating diversity in casting.
Titans Together
The third season sees the Titans returning to Gotham as a group to solve some crime and kick some butt. They’re also trying to find Jason Todd, who had disappeared after the tragic events of the season two finale. Nightwing and Co. will not only have to contend with old villains, but old relationships, such as with Barbara Gordon. Gordon, now Commissioner of the Gotham City Police, is also working with the former Scarecrow, who acts as a Lecter figure for the season.
Titans made the jump from DCUniverse to HBOMax as original programming was moved from the former service to the latter. This is due to WarnerMedia trying to consolidate things onto one platform. DCUniverse has since become solely a comics reading platform.
