Los Angeles will be the place to be next week on September 15th when the legendary master of the arts Todd Mcfarlane will join up with another legend, the great Stan Lee at Comikaze. I couldn’t even begin to think of a better con to be at as Todd Mcfarlane has always been a great inspiration to me for his very creative artistic talents. I have many of Mcfarlane’s Spider-Man titles and strive to one day have them all. In my opinion Todd was the best thing that happened to Spidey since, well, Stan Lee. Todd has done so many great things when he left Marvel and continues to rock the comic book and toy industries. In 1992 he helped form Image comics and began a trend of creator-owned comic properties with his release of Spawn which he created when he was in high school. Todd was nowhere near done, after that he created Mcfarlane toys until the toy industry was literally childs play. Mcfarlane toys does everything from Halo figures to sports figures, Movie Maniacs (which was one of my personal favorites) and much more.
Now we come to Marvel Comics icon Stan Lee, do I really need to go into this? The very name speaks for it self. Stan is credited with bringing the comic industry to where it is today, without Stan the Man we would be lacking of so many great characters and stories. Stan Lee is responsible for what I call the humanization of the modern superhero, before him they were all pretty much perfect. He created characters with real world problems that we could all relate to.
Now without further delay here is the press release:
