New casting news is in for Syfy’s upcoming horror anthology series Channel Zero. As we reported recently, Channel Zero is a series containing two 6-episode self-contained seasons, by creator Nick Antosca, that will air in SyFy during the fall of 2016 and the fall of 2017.
Syfy’s Getting Creepy(pastas)
Both seasons of Channel Zero are based on popular creepypastas. For those that don’t know, creepypastas are horror images or legends that have been copy-pasted around the internet, that are usually intended to scare their readers. The Channel Zero wikipedia page describes season one (Candle Cove as):
“a child psychologist (portrayed by Paul Schneider) returns to his small town home to investigate the mysterious disappearance of his twin brother and a slew of other children in the 1980s, and how it is connected to a bizarre local children’s television show that aired at the same time.”
Candle Cove premiers October 11,2016 and will star Paul Schneider and Fiona Shaw with Craig William Macneill as the director. If you missed the series trailer, watch it here.
From Twisty to Father
The second installment will be based around Brian Russell’s The No-End House. According to Deadline “John Carroll Lynch has been cast as a series regular opposite Amy Forsyth”. Lynch is known around the genre for portraying Twisty the Clown the antagonist of American Horror Story: Freak Show.
In The No-End House
“A young woman named Margot Sleator (Amy Forsyth) visits the No-End House, a bizarre house of horrors that consists of a series of increasingly disturbing rooms. When she returns home, Margot realizes everything has changed.”
Lynch has been cast as Margot’s father who is described as man whose entire world is his family but hides a complicated and troubled interior. Given his history with psychological characters we cannot wait to see what comes from the role.
Channel Zero: The No-End House premieres in 2017.
