After many years of waiting, fans of the Fate/Stay Night series have finally received the remake they have been waiting for! Ufotable Will Re-Animate Fate/Stay Night!
The founder of Ufotable, Hikaru Kondo, announced on his Twitter that Ufotable would be animating the Fate/Stay Night remake on Friday. It is unknown to how the remake will be formatted or to which routes they will be animating.
Ufotable isn’t a stranger to Type-Moon works, since they have worked on series like Fate/Zero and The Garden of Sinners. Ever since Ufotable produced Fate/Zero, many Type-Moon fans have wanted Ufotable to do the same for Fate/Stay Night.
Ufotable also produced the opening anime visuals for the Fate Stay Night PS Vita port: Realta Nua. Three different openings were created, and animation quality and style will most likely be similar to the following video:
Fate/Stay Night was originally a visual novel series created by Type-Moon. The series has received many spin-offs and sequels, such as Fate/Zero, Fate/Unlimited Codes, and Fate/Apocrypha. Fate/Stay Night also received an anime adaptation back in 2006, which was produced by Studio DEEN, who also produced the Higurashi anime series. A movie was also created by Studio DEEN based on the Unlimited Blade Works route from the visual novel. A Fate Stay/Night spin-off called Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya also premiered this July and is available to watch now on Crunchyroll.
Many Type-Moon fans, including me, have waited so long for the proper anime adaptation that Fate/Stay Night deserved. I am more than ecstatic to see how Ufotable will be working on the Fate/Stay Night series. Will they be animating the Fate route? The Heavens Feel route? Or will they just animate everything from the visual novel? Who knows!? All I know is that I can’t wait for this magnificent piece of work to come out in the future.
