Vision Theory Predicts Avengers Endgame
With Avengers Endgame completing the saga this year, there are so many expectations on what will happen! If anything, there’s no telling what to expect, especially with the 20 to 30 plus characters that will be sharing the screen together.
However, one redditor has created a theory based on the events of Infinity War. In short, the theory revolves around the character of Vision and how he may be the key to all that happens in Endgame. After his demise (spoilers) in the aftermath of Infinity War, Thanos gains the upper hand by gaining the Mind Stone that rested on Vision’s forehead.
As a result, Thanos succeeds in destroying half the population of life in the universe. But according to the Vision Theory, Vision still lives on!
Vision Theory Overview
Those looking to see the full theory can check it out on the Reddit post here. But the main premise of it has to do with how Vision actually dies twice in the battle against Thanos. As seen in Infinity War, Scarlet Witch uses her power to make the Mind Stone explode; which in turn causes Vision’s entire body to explode into pieces, thereby killing him.
However, after Thanos is at the brink of death from Thor and his newly received Stormbreaker; Thanos uses the Time Stone to turn back the clock on Vision’s death. From there the Mad Titan simply reaches down with his hand and pulls the Mind Stone from Vision’s head. Which in turn leaves his body as a gray, empty shell.
The is where the theory begins to elaborate the analysis of the deaths of Vision. The first death from Vision at the hands of Scarlet Witch had him shattered to pieces like the Mind Stone itself, while his body still remains, even after Thanos removes the Mind Stone.
This major discrepancy between Vision’s deaths hints that the Avenger may have already made a last-ditch effort to stop Thanos. Here’s where things get tricky!
The Vision theory further speculates that Vision somehow transferred his mind into the Mind Stone, and has been secretly influencing Thanos the entire time. As a result, the characters disintegrated in the “snap” will be revealed as not being totally destroyed. But how? Well through the mind manipulation of the Mind Stone!
The Vision/Mind Stone swayed Thanos to do something less destructive, even while blocking his awareness of the merciful act. It would then be Vision’s consciousness that gives the MCU heroes a key advantage at a pivotal moment in Avengers: Endgame.
Further evidence from the Vision Theory even echoes to how Thanos was mind-gamed by Adam Warlock at a key moment in the original Infinity Gauntlet comics!
The Vision Theory follows adds that Vision may have also become strong enough to actually download himself into the Mind Stone without losing his unique consciousness. This could, therefore, expose a weakness in the Infinity Stones’ circuit of power!
Does the Vision Theory Hold Water?
After combing through details and evidence presented by the theory, it could be said that much of it could be the first steps of gaining the upper hand in Endgame. After all, the mystery and properties provided by the infinity stones still felt untapped during most of Infinity War.
That hallucination dream world that Thanos visits child Gamora. And the idea that the Mind Stone is able to alert Vision on the danger of The Dark Order. There’s so much to these stones that maybe people are overlooking with all the talk of time travel. And perhaps the Vision Theory has enough truth to it.
But who knows for sure, as the arrival of Endgame on April 26, 2019, will surely confirm those suspicions!
Other upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movies include Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019, and Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5, 2019.
