Mythbusters Team Goes Down The Rabbit Hole
Ever since Mythbusters ended, there has been a huge gaping hole in television. A hole that needs to be filled with pop culture absurdity, strange science, and the mandatory explosion. Now that exploding hole will become a strange rabbit hole into the weird and fun as the Mythbusters build team has reunited for a Netflix series. Kari Byron, Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara return to the kind of wacky mixture of science, pop culture, and zany antics made famous in Mythbusters in their new White Rabbit Project for Netflix. The trailer for the show dropped this week, and it’s already shaping up to be quite the fun ride.
According to Mashable, the new series will follow the trio as they do “a wide range of activities including: dig into jailbreaks, test the science of superpowers, evaluate some of the craziest heists in history and put their bodies to the test examining G-Force.”
White Rabbit Project is the spiritual successor to the show that launched the Build Team into stardom. Mythbusters ran from 2003 to 2016, and hosts/special effects experts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman tackled pop culture myths and scientific oddities with a mixture of hard science and zany antics. Not since has Bill Nye was there anyone who made science fun and cool again. Byron, Belleci, and Imahara were the show’s Build Team, often tackling a secondary or even tertiary myth while the two hosts focused on the main myth for the episode. The show even had several specials to focus on genres such as superheroes. The Build Team left in 2014, and the show ended two years later.
Now, they are back and ready to resume their wild and crazy antics. The adventure down the rabbit hole begins on Netflix on December 9th, 2016.
