X-Men: Days of Future Past Trailer

X-Men: Days of Future PastIt has finally arrived, the full trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past and it looks amazing.  The competition for box office dollars is going to be cutthroat and to put it mildly, it is going to be one hell of a summer.  X-Men: Days of Future Past is one of three movies based in the Marvel Universe but like The Amazing Spider-Man 2, is not flying under the flag of Marvel/Disney.  FOX still owns the rights to X-Men and most related characters while Sony still holds rights to Spider-Man.  A good summer for Marvel Comics fans, but not so much for Marvel who won’t see but marginal profits compared to the other two studios for X-Men and Spider-Man.

This X-Men film marks the return of Bryan Singer to the franchise who had tremendous hits with the first two movies, but gave up the chance to helm the third film to direct Superman Returns in 2006.  The third film was not received well by critics or fans and might have ended the X-Men movie franchise until Matthew Vaughn scored a hit with X-Men: First Class.  The sequel not only combines all the previous films, it also merges the casts in a storyline adapted from an X-Men story published in the comic book series.  The film literally brings two generations of X-Men characters together as the past, present and future collide with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the middle.

X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on May 23rd and stars  and .  Check out the trailer below.
